A quick note about YouTube Membership
We have activated so-called “YouTube memberships” on our channel.
This is kind of like YouTube’s in-house, integrated version of Patreon.
Just wanted to make a few comments about this.
Firstly, our main crowd-funded focus will remain on our Patreon supporters… for two main reasons.
YouTube takes a bigger slice of your contribution.
The Patreon system overall seems less restrictive - it lets us do more stuff for you.
So to be on our Wall of Thanks and eligible for other bonus stuff - Patreon is the way to go. More news on that front soon.
Having said that, why even consider a YouTube membership!?
Well, some people might want to help us out but feel more comfortable doing it via YouTube - so the option now exists.
Secondly, there are a few fun things we can do for people who enjoy the “live chat” on our YouTube Premieres.
In particular, we can unlock custom emojis, such as the ones you see below.
No big deal, but we can only make them accessible to “members”.
We will endeavour to share bonus stuff for members via the YouTube membership system, but the main focus will be on Patreon supporters.
